Substack Adds the Ability to Create (Basic) Posts from the iOS App

I’m typing this from the Substack app. I’m not 100% sure when they added this feature, and I don’t know that I’ll use it very often, BUT I do appreciate having the option.

As far as I can tell, it’s only intended to be used for basic text posts. I don’t see any formatting options, can’t find a way to add a featured image, and don’t have the option to save this as a draft.

UPDATE: I left the app and returned, and I was no longer in the post editor. I thought I’d lost it, but clicking on the + button brought me back to what I’d started writing. Whew!

In fact, I can’t specify which section to add the post to. Also can’t add images into the post.

The only thing I can really control is whether or not to send it via email, or just publish it online (without bothering my subscribers with this basic post).

In this case, I think I’ll skip sending the email since I don’t think it would get that many opens, and I can’t appear to even add links so there’s nowhere to send people 😜

So I guess this serves as a test. It’s a nice start but I don’t know that I’ll use it much in its current form.
